The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
