The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
