The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
