The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
