The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great event, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
