The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
