The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
