The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
