The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
