The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
