The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
