The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
