The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
