The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
