The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
