The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the Great News 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
