The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
