The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
