The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
