The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
