The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
