The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 The night a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
