The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
