The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
