The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
