The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
