The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
