The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
