The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
