The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
