The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
