The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
