The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 you pay attention 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
