The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
