The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
