The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
