The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
