The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
