The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 you pay attention 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
