The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
