The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
