The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
