The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
