The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
