The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
