The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
