The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
