The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
