The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
