The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
