The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
